Earth quake in Spain
An Earth quake measuring 5.4 on the Richter scale his the town of Lorca on 11 May 2011. With the loss of 10 lives and damage to old buildings this is a disaster for the medieval town. This is the worst Earth quake to his Spain for 50 years.
One of our drivers was only 20 miles from Lorca when the quake struck. His report was of a loud rumble and the earth moving under his feet. The Earth quake could be felt up to 200 miles away.
Spain has many earth quakes most are so small they go unnoticed from Alicante to Malaga it has as many of two Earth quakes a day.
